Reshoring Competition Underway
Companies that have suc- cessfully reshored products, parts or tooling made primari- ly by metal forming, fabricat- ing, casting or machining, including additive manufactur- ing, may enter the 3rd Nation- al Metalworking Reshoring Award, sponsored by the Reshoring Initiative, the Preci- sion Metalforming Associa- tion, the National Tooling and Machining Association and the Association for Manufac- turing Technology.
To be eligible, the work must have been reshored between January 1, 2013, and May 31, 2020, from out- side North America to North America. Reshoring includes work produced in-house or outsourced. Applications must be submitted by June 30, 2020. Visit www.amton- line.org/reshoringaward.
Clips & Clamps Wins FCA Women Business of the Year
Clips & Clamps Industries, a Plymouth, MI-based metal forming company, has received Fiat Chrysler Auto- mobile’s (FCA) 2019 Women Business of the Year. Pre- sented during a ceremony at FCA’s North American head- quarters in Auburn, MI, the award recognizes the woman-owned and -managed company’s success in provid- ing innovative solutions through its products and services with FCA. In addition to its tooling design and build capabilities, Clips & Clamps provides metal stampings, slideforming, CNC wireform- ing, and welded and assem- bled components.
ECI Earns Four Industry Awards
ECI Software Solutions, a Fort Worth, TX-based provider of industry-specific cloud- based solutions and services, has earned four product awards: a Gold Stevie (Manu- facturing Solution) and a Bronze Stevie (Cloud ERP Solution) in the American Business Awards program; Frost & Sullivan’s North Ameri- can Product Line Strategy Leadership Award; and inclu- sion in the top 10 of the Con- structech 50 listing of influen- tial construction technology providers.

Trumpf Opens Technology Center in California
Trumpf Inc., a Farmington, CT-based provider of manufac- turing solutions, has opened its 20,000-sq.-ft. technology center in Costa Mesa, CA, where the company’s preci- sion laser, punch and bending capabilities are showcased in the center’s 13,000-sq.-ft. showroom. There, guests have the opportunity to experience seven machines from Trumpf’s product portfolio along with hands-on training.
Guests also can experi- ence Trumpf’s TruServices, TruConnect and TruTops Soft- ware solutions to gain insight and knowledge on how their
manufacturing processes can be fully optimized. Remote connectivity to the Trumpf Smart Factory in Hoffman Estates, IL, makes it possible to view additional Trumpf equipment, in real-time and highlights the company’s Industry 4.0 solutions for manufacturing.
Solar Atmospheres Installs Second Air Furnace
Solar Atmospheres, Her- mitage, PA, installed a new, 14-ft.-long car bottom air fur- nace. Surveyed in accordance with AMS2750 Rev E, the fur- nace is uniform within ±10 F (Class 2). With a working zone measuring 60 in. wide by 54 in. high by 168 in. long, the furnace handles workloads to 30,000 lb. A maximum oper- ating temperature of 1400 F allows this furnace to accom- modate the tempering of large tool steel components, as well as the age-hardening process- es of nickel-based alloys and precipitation hardenable stainless steels.
Dengensha Opens Customer Service Branch in Georgia
Dengensha America, a Bedford, OH-based provider of welding solutions, recently opened its newest customer service and technical support branch in Duluth, GA, joining the company’s two existing U.S. facilities in Ohio.
The new branch is staffed with a recently hired sales engineer from the Atlanta area, and a Japanese techni- cal service engineer dis- patched from company head- quarters in Japan to provide reinforced technical support.
“With the rapid growth of resistance welding customers
in our Southern territory,” says Don Grisez, Dengensha presi- dent, “as well as automaker expansion in the south, this new branch office demon- strates Dengensha’s ongoing commitment to provide every customer the best possible sales and service support with the fastest response time possible.”

MC Machinery Teams With Portugal’s Adira
Chicago, IL-based MC Machinery Systems, Inc., and Portugal-based Adira, both providers of advanced metal forming solutions, have formed a sales and service partnership to deliver through- out North America press brakes from 100 through 2000-plus tons.
The partnership enables MC Machinery to offer cus- tomers a more extensive line of press brakes, says David Bray, national press brakes product manager, “from sim- ple inexpensive hydraulic press brakes to well- equipped high-tonnage cus- tomized solutions.”

CNC Machines Announces Scholarship Program
CNC Machines, a Sanford, FL-based CNC machine mar- ketplace, announced that it is accepting applications for a $2500 scholarship to benefit a student pursuing certifica- tion, an associate degree or a bachelor’s degree in a manu- facturing-related area of study.
