U.S. DoL Announces More than $12M in Grant Funding for Worker Safety and Health Training Grants
The U.S. Department of Labor has made available more than $12.7 million in funding to support training initiatives designed to promote safety and health in the nation’s workplaces. Administered by the department’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the Susan Harwood Training Grant Program includes funding opportunities for: 
  • Targeted Topic Training: Supporting educational programs that identify and prevent workplace hazards.
  • Training and Educational Materials Development: Supporting the development of quality classroom-ready training and educational materials that identify and prevent workplace hazards.
  • Capacity Building: Supporting organizations in developing new training programs to assess needs and plan for full-scale safety and health education programs.
Submit grant applications by 11:59 p.m. EDT on July 7, 2023.

Fact Sheet: White House Announces Strategies to Train and Connect American Workers to Jobs Created by the Investing in America Agenda
According to a White House Fact Sheet on the Investing in America Workforce Initiatives, unveiled on May 16, 2023, “in order to unleash the full economic and job-creation potential of these public- and private-sector investments, the Administration has identified an initial set of five Workforce Hubs, each centered on key industries. …Each Workforce Hub, consistent with the needs of the specific city or region, will work to secure private-sector and state and local commitments to expand pre-apprenticeship and Registered Apprenticeship programs, develop or expand career and technical education programs aligned to Investing in America jobs and careers, and provide supportive services that are particularly critical to helping underrepresented students and workers succeed.”

Hub locations: Phoenix, AZ; Columbus, OH; Baltimore, MD; Augusta, GA; and Pittsburgh, PA.
