Amada NA to Expand with NC Addition

Friday, May 11, 2018

Amada North America, Inc., the Buena Park, CA-based manufacturer of precision sheetmetal fabricating equipment, has announced plans to invest $87 million in a new facility in High Point, NC, that will create more than 200 jobs as it manufactures and assembles a line of precision press-brake-bending equipment for the United States market. The project’s timeline wasn’t announced.

“Amada believes success comes from listening to the voice of our customers, and locating our newest facility in this area allows us to be close to our customer base in the Southeast,” says Yukihiro Fukui, CEO at Amada North America Inc.

The North Carolina Department of Commerce and the Economic Development Partnership of N.C. were instrumental in supporting the company’s expansion decision. A performance-based grant of $200,000 from the One North Carolina Fund will help facilitate the Amada facility.
“North Carolina has the workforce, infrastructure, sites and business climate that manufacturers need to succeed,” says NC Commerce Secretary Anthony M. Copeland. “Amada has big plans for this project, and I look forward to working with them as they grow.”
