Mate Precision Tooling, Anoka, MN, introduces thick-turret EasyView Slug Free Dies that allow the user to assign visual identification to the tool to signify a specific feature or use of the tool. This is accomplished with a colored O-ring designed to provide clear and instant identification of the feature or use of the tool. Examples include: material type the tool is to punch, machine the tool is to be used on, and die clearance.

To use the system, an operator installs a colored O-ring that identifies the assigned feature for a specific die. The O-ring rests in a groove on the outside surface of the die, and quickens tool selection and setup in keeping with maximally efficient, lean visual tool management.

EasyView Slug Free dies are available as an option for thick-turret 0.5-in. A through 4.5-in. E station dies. The colored identification rings are available separately in red, green, yellow, white and black for each thick-turret station.
