GF AgieCharmilles Supports Manufacturing-Research Collaborative
February 1, 2013Comments
Among the newest industry supporters of the Virginia-based Commonwealth Center for Advanced Manufacturing (CCAM) is GF AgieCharmilles, a provider of EDM, milling and laser-texturing machines. The firm has supplied CCAM with a model FO 550 sp die-sinking EDM system, which includes dynamic process control and a double thermostabilization system designed to prevent the impact of temperature variations on accuracy. CCAM, which operates out of a new 60,000-sq.-ft. research facility in Prince George County, VA, is a research-based collaboration between the University of Virginia, Virginia Tech, Virginia State University and manufacturing companies worldwide.
