Electric Parallel Gripper for Tight Spaces

The 2FG7 electric parallel gripper for collaborative robots (cobots), from OnRobot, reportedly is smaller and more powerful than other two-finger grippers, making it ideal for use in applications with limited maneuvering space. Boasting a maximum payload of 24.3 lb., an external grip range to 2.87 in. and a gripping force of 20 to 140 N, the 2FG7 easily can handle heavy or bulky payloads, according to company officials. For cobot-application versatility, the gripper comes with an IP67 rating for harsh environments and ISO Class 5 certification for cleanroom use.

The electric 2FG7, reportedly unlike pneumatic grippers, can be programmed easily for precise force, speed and stroke control settings through an intuitive software interface. And, intelligent feedback such as grip detection and lost-grip detection improve overall accuracy.
