Concept Laser Metal-AM Machine Lands at Air Force Institute of Technology
May 3, 2017Comments
The Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) has invested nearly $1 million to purchase its first 3D metal printer, a Concept Laser model. Installed at the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, OH, the machine will be used by student researchers in the Graduate School of Engineering and Management as they seek to learn how to manufacture aerospace parts using 3D metal printing. They’ll focus on three primary aerospace materials—Inconel, titanium and aluminum alloys.
