Friday, July 17, 2015

Formtek-Maine, Clinton, ME, a manufacturer of coil-metal processing and press-feed equipment and systems, has purchased a new Okuma LB4000 turning center. The Okuma machine will add capacity and will be the fourth CNC turning center utilized to manufacture parts for Formtek-Maine’s products.
The Model LB4000 turning center has the capacity to turn a 16.93-in.-dia. by 59-in.-long part and is equipped with live tooling and a bar-stock feeder with 12 spindle liners. The machine is expected to increase efficiency for the production of straightener rolls. These now will be produced entirely on one machine, eliminating station-to-station work processes.
