Laser Fume Extraction Unit
The LAS 200.1 laser fume extractor, the latest addition to ULT AG’s ULT 200.1 series, features a filtration concept that reportedly significantly
increases pollutant-separation efficiency.
The newly designed prefilter package includes a filter mat and panel filter for longer filter life and long-term cost savings. A coarse-dust and fine-dust filter increase the main filter’s durability. The HEPA filter according to Standard DIN EN 1822, offered in combination with an adsorption filter, increases the main filter’s separation rate
to >99.995 percent.
The laser fume extractor’s modularity provides
high flexibility in regards to changing process conditions, as the unit can be equipped with additional filter modules if required. It combines
with various capturing elements, such as extraction arms or hoses/tubes (DN 50, 75, 80), enabling pollutant removal at as many as four individual work-
stations.
Depending on the number of extraction points, the system’s ecoflow CS technology increases and reduces exhaust performance automatically. Integrated vacuum stabilization and selectable pressure ranges enables the unit’s extraction performance to adapt easily to pollutant types and levels. In addition, the ecoflow CS technology automatically compensates for pressure losses caused by
loaded filters.
An integrated M12 interface allows for communication with a superordinate laser
processing system, making it possible to run the fume extractor during active utilization of a laser system, thereby reducing costs.
Another value-added: an extensive range of original accessory parts, saving users valued time in searching for such items.

Safety Gloves for the 5th Sense
Newly introduced electrostatic dis- charge (ESD) safety gloves by Uvex com- bine an 18-gauge liner (polyamide, elas- tane, carbon) and an aqua-polymer coating that ensure high sensitivity and tactile feel for accomplishing precision work, the handling of very small and fine com- ponents, and interacting with touch- screen displays.

comfort in dry, slightly damp or oily work environments, the gloves can be kept on at all times. This reduces the risk of injuries and increases productivity due to less time wasted by putting gloves on and taking them off. Firmer Footing for Women in Manufacturing
Xena Workwear, a Milwaukee, WI-based manufacturer of safety shoes for women, has introduced steel-toe boots for workers unwilling to settle for bulky offerings. “Too often, men’s safety boots are sized down and offered to women in stereotypically female colors, but they were not designed for us,” says Xena founder Anastasia Kraft. “Not having professional-looking footwear makes it nearly impossible to dress well and feel confident.”
The Gravity steel-toe footwear are ASTM-certified and OSHA-compliant; impact-, compression-, chemical- and oil- resistant; weigh less than 3 lb.; and are cut for a woman’s foot with an ergonom- ically lightweight structure that provides enhanced heel and arch support.
Kraft and her team closed on seed funding that will help Xena expand its prod- uct portfolio from adding variants of the Gravity model to introducing an all-new fashionable boot. Also on the horizon: women’s work blazers with purposeful compartments for storing rings, phones, earplugs and safety goggles.
