Versatile, Lightweight Lamp-Post Cranes
Engineered Material Handling (EMH), Valley City, OH, has debuted its versatile AL System lamp-post workstation cranes, offering workstation-placement solutions that provide convenient access for optimum efficiency. Economical, easily installed and maintenance-free, the cranes feature lightweight aluminum track profiles for loads to 2200 lb., an exclusive EMH T-slot design, anodized enclosed rails and anti- kickup nylon wheels.
 The cranes require only four upright
columns per runway cell, with the crane
runway clamped onto the top of the frame
at the corners using standard aluminum clamps. The bridge and lifting devices then are hung from the runway, which enables convenient and open access at either end. Maximum height is 15 ft.
With lightweight aluminum track profiles, AL System cranes are easily configured to suit almost any application and accommodate a variety of lifters and handling devices, safely and efficiently, according to company officials. Anodized aluminum extrusions and enclosed rails maximize strength, provide durability and add to aesthetics. The articulating cranes are free-moving and do not require movement at right angles. This feature also provides smooth operation and a low starting force, even with the load con- centrated at the end of the bridge. In addition, the crane’s anti-kickup nylon wheels deliver smooth and safe movement of the trolley inside of the enclosed rail.
An exclusive T-slot design allows for splicing of two pieces of rail together. This makes for simple installation with a variety of integrating equipment, such as lifters, end-effectors, chain hoists or smart lifters. The T-slot splice design also eliminates bumps when a load moves over track splices.

Unique Spindle-Retention Knobs Optimize Machine-Center Productivity
