to the gas diffuser, the guns reportedly deliver cost savings as shielding gas has zero opportunity to escape.
Trumpf, Farmington, CT, announced a limited sales partnership with SPI Lasers in order to provide Trump customers with laser-material-processing solutions across select North American market segments through SPI’s North American OEM sales group. SPI Lasers products are said to offer cost-optimized solutions due to flexible levels of integration for customers who do not need the full range of features available with TruControl and Trumpf’s other enabling technologies.
Additionally, the M800 control enables the user to analyze machine profitability and see reserves to optimize processes and boost efficiency. Diagrams depict operating costs and output, and all oper- ating material statuses and maintenance cycles can be called up at a touch.
The guns also use a unique dual-circuit cooling system that runs the length of the front end, providing effective cooling and low operating temperatures. This feature results in longer gun and consumable life, as well as less downtime for consumable changeover. Cooler operating temperatures also reduce the amount of spatter that adheres to the nozzle, saving time and money in cleanup, extending nozzle life and lowering overall consumable costs.
The SPI lasers that will be available through the Trumpf North American sales group include the RedEnergy Pulsed and RedPower Qube CW fiber lasers for high- speed and remote processing. The part- nership will serve a range of markets, including automotive, e-mobility, battery and consumer electronics.
Currently, the MV1200-S, MV1200-R, MV2400-S and MV2400-R Advance wire EDMs feature the M800 control. MC Machinery is working on incorporating this technology in its laser-cutting machines. MC Machinery Systems: www.mcmachinery.com
CWD and TWD guns are available in clutch- and solid-mount models, with a variety of mounting-arm and neck options. They also include integrated air blast and a simple liner design, with one end pre-dressed at the factory to minimize the opportunity for operator variation in liner trimming. New Control
for Monitoring Wire-EDM Processes
Robotic Water-Cooled GMAW Guns
MC Machinery Systems, Chicago, IL, offers the M800 EDM control, included in Mitsubishi wire-EDM (electrical discharge machining) units to increase productivity and help keep track of production jobs. The M800-series control uses rotational and tilting functionality, while providing job monitoring and important information in a single view. The 19-in. touchscreen enables the user to swipe, pinch and tap to view, making it a much easier interface
Tregaskiss, Windsor, Ontario, Canada, has introduced two robotic water-cooled gas-metal-arc-welding (GMAW) guns that reportedly offer superior cooling power for longer gun and consumable life, in addition to zero gas loss.
