Trumpf Opens Smart Facility in Chicago
Waukesha, WI, a contract manufacturer offering fabrica- tion, machining and assembly services, has purchased a Komatsu H2W300 330-ton servo press to complement its existing line of metal-stamping presses. The new line will be outfitted with a Cooper-Wey- mouth, Peterson ServoMax 36-in. feed line, and is sched- uled to be operational by the end of 2017.

Machine-tool manufacturer Trumpf, Inc., Farmington, CT, has opened an Industry-4.0- equipped sheetmetal-process- ing facility in Chicago, IL. The 50,000-sq.-ft., $15-million facility features an additional $15 million in equipment, and was designed for digitally con- nected production processes throughout the entire sheet- metal process chain. The facil- ity will focus on consulting and training Trumpf customers as they employ digitally connect- ed equipment.
Arku Coil Systems, Inc., Cincinnati, OH, a manufactur- er of precision levelers, debur- ring machines and coil lines, has promoted Nicholas Miller to general manager. He has served as the technical direc- tor of Arku since 2013. He pre- viously had worked at Arku's headquarters in Baden- Baden, Germany. In his new position, Miller is in charge of overall management and busi- ness development.

 Panasonic Opens MI and OH Welding Technical Centers
Panasonic Factory Solu- tions Co. of America, Rolling Meadows, IL, has opened technical centers for arc- and laser-welding technologies in Farmington Hills, MI, and Hilliard, OH. Both centers include Tawers arc-welding and Lapriss laser-diode-weld- ing equipment and other Panasonic technologies.
Coe Press Equipment, Ster- ling Heights, MI, a designer and manufacturer of coil-han- dling and servo roll-feed equipment, announced the promotion of Hunter Coe to CEO. Hunter replaces former CEO John Coe, who now will serve as chairman of the board. As CEO, Hunter will help establish the company’s strategic direction and work in close association with the executive team to guide the company. Hunter joined Coe Press Equipment in 2008, and worked with Coe’s assem- bly, service and sales teams before being named president in 2015. He also oversaw the launch of Coe’s cut-to-length business unit in 2013.
Admiral Steel Adds New Blanking Line
Metalformer Admiral Steel, Alsip, IL, has added a new Min- ster-Nova precision-blanking line, expanding the company’s capabilities to include preci- sion-cut blanks. The line guar- antees tight length tolerances, allowing Admiral Steel to offer almost any cold-rolled special- ty steel product as a precision- cut blank, says the company.
