Increasing use of advanced steels with higher yield strengths was taking a toll on Liberty Steel’s 20-year-old COE coil processing line and challenging its ability to achieve flatness requirements. Rather than replace the entire line, COE upgraded the existing straightener head with a new HD series heavy duty power straightener, saving the company significant money, and improving process and part quality.

and how dust collectors per- form as a whole. It is the first standard to provide a methodology for comparing performance results based on true operating conditions. Using a cartridge dust collec- tor with four high-efficiency filters, the unit feeds dust into the collector under spec- ified conditions, measuring pressure drop and down- stream emissions. Camfil will use the test rig for both inter- nal product quality testing and to help customers simu- late real-world conditions to evaluate the compliance and effectiveness of various filters.
