custom mailboxes, street signs and more. The company also is cutting a variety of race-car parts for local teams, as well as parts for its signature pit boxes.
“Receiving the 2016 Tib- bets Award is truly an honor,” says Dr. Peter Liu, senior sci- entist at Omax and creator of the MicroMax abrasive water- jet. “It’s great to be recognized for our R&D work at such a high level.”
The Jet Edge machine, capable of cutting precision parts from virtually any materi- al, can accommodate sheet sizes to 5 by 13 ft. and offers water pressure to 55,000 psi. IGems waterjet software pro- vides optimal CAD/CAM/nest- ing performance, according to Jet Edge officials.
The MicroMax provides a positioning accuracy of less than 5 microns and can cut extremely small parts in virtu- ally any material, according to company officials, and its Tilt- A-Jet cutting head allows for taper-free edges and rapid cutting speeds.
LET US BE YOUR PRODUCTIVITY PARTNER
“The waterjet service mar- ket is booming and I wanted to get involved and establish myself and my company as a waterjet service provider,” says Mike Murray, Murrco owner and president. “I plan on using my waterjet-cutting system to provide quality and accurate parts and products in a job-shop environment. As time goes on, I'm sure some new products will be added to Murrco's rac- ing product line. Production- type work in the motorsports industry is the goal.”
