This increased efficiency enables the pump to deliver more horsepower to the cutting noz- zle than intensifier designs at any pump power rating, regardless of pressure, an important feature because the more horse- power at the nozzle, the stronger the abrasive stream and the faster the cutting speeds.

The software calculates the precision of the velocity of a tool path at more than 1000 points/in., allowing for complete control over the motion of an abrasive jet and enabling rapid machining.
The 80X JetMachining center (pictured) quickly and precisely processes large, com- plex components or multiple parts from var- ious materials and thicknesses. Key is the com- pany’s exclusive Intelli-Max software suite. The intuitive software optimizes the machine’s tool path for consistent quality and repeatable results. At FABTECH, Omax pairs the 80X with the new 100-hp EnduroMax pump, which oper- ates at 85-percent efficiency as opposed to the60-70-percentrangeofintensifierpumps.
The optional A-Jet multi-axis cutting head adds two motion axes to the 80X for complete five-axis machining, which eases the cutting of beveled edges, angled sides, 3D shapes and countersinks while com- pensating for taper.
Through its advanced direct-drive pump, available in 20-, 30- and 40-hp options, the 1515 offers more cutting power per kilo- watt than machines that utilize intensifi- er-type pumps, according to Omax officials.
