Wilson Tool Unveils Website for Newly Acquired Advance Engineering & Manufacturing
In addition to a complete retrofit of their electrical and hydraulic systems, including the sealing of all cylinders and various mechanical overhauls, the nine lines, with press forces of 1,200 to 2,100 mtons, also will be fitted with new safety technology. Work is due to begin this summer.
Wilson Tool International, White Bear Lake, MN, has launched a website for Advance Engineering & Manufacturing (AEM), which Wilson Tool acquired in 2014. AEM, formed more than 60 years ago in St. Louis, MO, provides tablet punches and dies as well as related acces- sories and services for numerous indus- tries including pharmaceutical, nutraceuti- cal, ceramic and powdered metal.
Besides its own brand, Audi’s Tool- making department also supplies other brands of the Volkswagen Group with forming dies and equipment for car-body manufacturing.

Newcomb Spring Corp., headquartered in Decatur, GA, recently purchased a CNC spring coiler capable of manufac- turing a range of compression, extension and torsion springs. The machine’s auto- mated features enable Newcomb Spring to coil precision springs using wire diam- eters to 0.625 in. with increased speed and productivity.
mitment to help equip the nation’s preci- sion-manufacturing workforce with skills needed to advance in their careers. NIMS plans to work with employers, education providers, workforce-development organi- zations and other stakeholders to expand its Competency-Based Apprenticeship System in which students and workers earn skills, experience and credentials.
Providing improved navigation, expanded content, simple access to extensive product and service information as well as industry resources, the new site also allows AEM customers to upload specifications and other documents to request a quote, ask a question or direct- ly contact an expert.
The coiler rapidly produces parts that traditionally required manual handling, as its automated features eliminate the need for labor-intensive hand tooling and many secondary processes, thus provid- ing faster turnaround times and less waste material.
Through outreach to stakeholders, NIMS will provide a package of tools, resources and technical assistance to support stakeholder efforts to establish or expand their use of apprenticeships. It will develop and disseminate an appren- ticeship blueprint to help companies expedite implementation of customized apprenticeships that meet their talent needs, and has set a goal to issue 1000 industry-recognized credentials to individ- uals in apprenticeship programs.
