U.S. exports hit an all-time record of $2.3 trillion in 2013, says the Department of Com- merce, supporting more than 11 million jobs. A key compo- nent of that are exports of automotive aftermarket prod- ucts, which has received sup- port from the Commerce Department’s International Trade Administration in the form of a $2.2 million federal grant. A chunk of the grant, $300,000, has been awarded to the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA), Diamond Bar, CA. SEMA pledges to use the grant, in part, to expand exporting opportunities for its members with a new annual fact-finding and sales mission to Russia.

The learn- ing center opened in late August, 2014, to provide a curriculum combining class- room and hands-on learning for high-school students seek- ing college credit from a 2-yr. college. The initial incoming class includes 13 students who will attend classes for as many as 2 hr. per day. Auto- matic Feed manufactures coil- handling and press-feeding equipment.
