Software for Manufacturing
From Part Drawing to Die-Price Estimate in 10 min.
ToolPlanners Inc., Springfield, TN, has released DieMatrix version 6, database soft- ware for estimating the cost of metal-stamping dies. The desktop application is packed with new features, including a front-end GUI take-off that allows users quick and easy
point-and-click measuring and counting from a pdf or any other image file.
A newly added quick-die-estimate feature allows users to go from part drawing to die price in 10 min. or less. Templates can be created to allow a quick estimate of similar
dies in minutes, and reports can be generated with more than 800 die parameters. The software comes loaded with global costing standards and labor rates for 26 coun- tries, and is user-configurable to inhouse or customer specifications. Data can be stored
locally or in a cloud server and shared with multiple users to allow collaboration.

Software Solutions Fresh from IMTS
Infor, New York, NY, used last month’s IMTS stage to introduce two new software prod- ucts: Factory Track and CloudSuite Industrial. Factory Track, developed to help manu- facturers synchronize their enterprise plans with plant activities and bridge the gap from idea to execution, is built for the cloud and offers flexible deployment options and a low total cost of ownership. It features three modules:
• Warehouse Mobility—A real-time inventory-management solution that automates data collection, eliminates errors and inventory write-offs, helps manufacturers gain vis- ibility into their material movements and automates inbound and outbound logistics.
• Time Track—Collects labor time and attendance and provides easy payroll extracts to feed payroll applications.
• Shop Floor—Automates production-schedule execution, dispatch operations and workcenter operations, and enables paperless shop-floor operations.
CloudSuite Industrial offers manufacturers access to applications within the cloud environment, building upon Infor’s offerings available on Amazon Web Services. Through a flexible, subscription-based delivery model, customers can reduce IT expen- ditures while continuing to benefit from visibility across the global supply chain. Its man- agement tools include financials, scheduling, shop-floor management, quality control and analytics. Customers can share data such as revenue management, scheduling and customer information in real time, allowing teams to be more collaborative and efficient.
