(55 percent Trumpf), based in Piovene Rocchette, Italy, will develop production systems for mass- production 3D printing of metal components. Sisma lasers find use for welding, marking, cutting and selective laser melting.

A second office is in Bei- jing. “AWS Asia will promote AWS codes and standards in Asia, as well as other AWS products including certifica- tion, membership and online education,” says Jeff Kamentz, corporate director, international sales, AWS.

Pair of Tube-Bending Machines Slated for Aircraft MRO by British Airways
Consortium Launched to Benefit Thermal Manufacturing
The British Airways mainte- nance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facility at Heathrow Air- port has ordered two tube- bending machines from UK- based Unison Ltd. (Horn Machine Tools, Madera, CA). One machine is an EvBend 1000 semi-manual bender with CNC control, the other is a fully CNC all-electric Breeze model equipped with the firm’s laser-controlled spring- back-compensation system.
