Miller Electric Recognized by Wisconsin Hispanic Business Community
The Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Wisconsin (HCCW) has named welding- equipment manufacturer Miller Electric Mfg. Co. Man- ufacturer of the Year. The award recognizes Miller’s efforts in support of a new training initiative aimed at addressing the state’s shortage of skilled welders.
HCCW and Miller Electric are part of a collaborative effort in Wisconsin along with other manufacturers, technical colleges and com- munity leaders to address the skilled-labor shortage.

Rofin Acquisition Targets Brittle-Material Laser Processing
Cutting and drilling of glass, sapphire and semicon- ductor substrates—that’s the focus of the laser technology developed by FiLaser, Port- land, OR, which has agreed to be acquired by Rofin-Sinar Technologies, Plymouth, MI. The transaction, which includes all intellectual prop- erty including trademarks and patents, was expected to close in March.
Merged: Dayton Progress, Anchor Lamina
Dayton Lamina Corp. is the new combined company resulting from the recently
announced merger of Day- ton Progress and Anchor Lamina, effective February 9, 2014. Misumi Group, Inc. acquired the two die-compo- nent manufacturers in November 2012. The exist- ing crew of Dayton Progress sales managers now repre- sents all Dayton Lamina products. And, there’s a new website with product, technical information and a distributor locator.
Camfil to Acquire German Air-Pollution- Control Company
Sweden-based Camfil (with U.S. operations, Cam- fil APC, in Jonesboro, AR), has agreed to acquire Handte Umwelttechnik GmbH in Germany, and Handte’s operations in Switzerland, the Czech
Republic and China. Camfil and Handte manufacture industrial dust- and fume- collection equipment.
New Jet Edge Distributor in MN
KF Machinery, Lakeville, MN, has been named a dis- tributor of Jet Edge (St. Michael, MN) waterjet-cut- ting machines in Minneso- ta, the Dakotas, Nebraska, western Wisconsin and western Iowa.
