Division Tooling Engineer — Fort Smith, AR
Rheem Air Conditioning Division has an immediate opening for a Division Tooling Engineer. This position is responsible for tooling and related processes within the multi-plant AC Division. The Division Tooling Engineer manages all new tooling projects and works closely with internal and external customers to ensure that tool- ing meets quality, cost, timing and specification requirements. This position also is responsible for mainte- nance and continuous improvement of the Rheem Tooling Specification, which is communicated to all poten- tial tooling vendors. Position also is responsible for the efficient implementation of engineering changes to existing tooling, and provides manufacturability feedback to Research and Development design teams. REQUIRED:
Bachelor of Science degree in a related Engineering field with a minimum of ten years Tool and Die experi- ence in an appliance-related industry; skilled in AutoCad, ProE or equivalent CAD tools as well as diagnosing tooling and equipment problems; a working knowledge of machine controls and automation and sound tool making practice and die protection, along with a familiarity with Lean Manufacturing Tools such as VSM, TPM, error-proofing, setup reduction and continuous flow/pull systems; knowledge of federal safety standards as related to tooling and machines; knowledge of various manufacturing processes used in a sheetmetal fabri- cation environment including progressive, transfer and draw tooling as well as CNC and laser fabrication. Experience with equipment and processes unique to HVAC industry including fin dies, fin presses, expanders, copper fabrication.
