Esab Christens New Welding-Wire Plant
Esab Welding and Cutting Products, Florence, SC, has opened a new welding-wire manufacturing plant in Union County, SC. The 260,000-sq.- ft. plant will produce the firm’s high-performance GMAW and submerged-arc- welding wires, and its Aris- toRod and copper-coated wires.
Red Stag Now Making Working Engineering- Design Concept Models
Contract with Red Stag Engineering & Automation, Inc., Waupaca, WI, for your pressline projects and you’ll have the option of including with the project a physical moving model of how the custom engineered design of the press, transporter and automation equipment will work—before manufacturing of the product begins. Using a special printer and unique software, the firm’s engi- neers will transform engi- neering data into a working plastic model, made to scale, so that customers
can see how all of the parts interact.
Large-Scale Fabricator Expands Paint Capabilities
D&S Manufacturing, Black River Falls, WI, announced plans to upgrade its offline liquid spray-painting system and to integrate powder-coat- ing capabilities by installing one of the largest coating booths in the Midwest at its production facility. The 200- by 30-ft. booth, which fea- tures a unique door that dis- appears under the floor

rather than overhead, will be able to accommodate com- ponents weighing as much as 10,000 lb. D&S supplies large components, assem- blies and weldments to a range of customers including Caterpillar, Oshkosh Corp. and The Trane Co.
Custom-Machinery Supplier Expanding, Hiring
JCR Automation, Inc., Fort Wayne, IN, a supplier of cus- tom cut-to-length machines, automated assembly sys- tems, waterjet-cutting machines and the like, announced plans to relocate and expand its manufactur- ing and warehouse space. It also plans to add four new employees to its existing staff of 16. Expansion efforts—to the tune of $200,000 for the facility and another $300,000 in new equipment—will support the company’s continuous devel- opment of its process-prod- uct line for the high-speed progressive-die stamping industry, and other end-user industries.
Big Pipe Bender Shipped to Tennessee Fab Shop
Pipe-bending equipment manufacturer Pines Technolo- gy, Westlake, OH, has shipped a No. 6 heavy-duty rotary hydraulic bending machine to the Knoxville, TN, fabricating plant of Morris Coupling. Headquartered in Erie, PA, Morris Coupling will use the machine to form parts used in pneumatic con- veying systems, exhaust sys- tems, heat exchangers and similar products ranging from 1.5 to 8-in. OD with bend radii from 2.5 to 72 in.
