Harrisburg Area Community College (HACC), in Eastern PA, has been certified to provide training on Motoman robots as a registered Motoman Endorsed Instruc- tor Training Center. The center will deliver basic and advanced training courses on the NX100 controller, and maintenance. The robotics courses build on HACC’s existing mechatronics program.

A new CNC press brake has landed on the production floor of metal fabrica- tor D&S Manufacturing, Black River Falls, WI, expecting to significantly reduce downtime between job changeovers. The brake, a Model 548514 Accell Series from Accurpress, Rapid City, SD, features an adjustable bottom V-die that opens from 1.5 to 8 in.—no need to change out the lower die from part to part using a forklift. The brake is rated to 485 tons across its 14- ft. bed, and includes a six-axis back- gauge.

Multiblanking Line Installed at Mexican Service Center
Eastern-PA Community College Now a Motoman Robot-Training Site
Alutodo SA de CV, a subsidiary of Grupo Cuprum located in Nuevo Leon, Mexico, recently installed a Red Bud Industries’ precision multiblanking line capable of processing material to 1⁄4-in. thick and 60 in. wide. Included is Red Bud’s precision grip feed system and CNC programmable slitter.

CA, has installed an Amada 4000-W Gemini FO MII 3015 laser-cutting machine that includes a rotary index feature so that the machine can process tube and pipe, as well as flat sheet. Noted as particularly useful by Airtronics: The integrated rotary-index unit allows the cutting head to be posi- tioned near the chuck, minimizing the dead zone. Bowed pipe or tubing can be cut without vibration. Cutting-table capacity: 61 by 121 in.
