PA Service Center Adds 4th Waterjet Machine
The Pottstown, PA metal- service center operated by Jacquet Mid Atlantic has added its fourth Jet Edge waterjet-cutting machine. The new machine can handle sheet and plate to 13 by 21 ft., and features a pair of abrasive-jet cutting heads, a 100-hp 60-KSI pump, inde- pendent programmable z car- riages, programmable height sensing, closed-loop water fil- tration and a garnet-removal system. Jacquet operates five metal-service centers in North America stocking
19 grades of stainless-steel and nickel-alloy plates.
Stamper Supplying Motor Laminations for GE Locomotives
General Electric has deliv- ered the first two of 100 new C30ACi locomotives it’s building for South Africa. The locomotives feature stamped AC motor laminations pro- duced by The McGregor Met- alworking Companies, Spring- field, OH. Ten of the locomotives will be manufac- tured in Erie and Grove City, PA, and 90 will be assem-
bled locally at Transnet Rail Engineering’s site in South Africa.
AutoForm Opens Brazilian Office

Die Builder/Stamper Adds Robotic- Welding Cell
New Bremen Machine & Tool Co., Inc., New Bremen, OH, has added a robotic arc- welding cell to its shop floor. The cell features an Almega AX-V6 six-axis robot from OTC Daihen, Charlotte, NC—6-kg payload, 1400-mm work envelope—with a 60-in. turntable positioner.
Esab to Open New Wire-Manufacturing Plant
Esab Welding & Cutting Products, Florence, SC, announced plans to open a new facility in Union County, SC, to manufacture its line of gas-metal-arc- and sub- merged-arc-welding wire, products currently manufac- tured at its plant in Ashtabu- la, OH. The firm expects its new 250,000-sq.-ft. plant to employ more than 100, and enter production by the end of 2011.
