 Dayton Progress Receives ED Grant
Montgomery County, OH, has awarded an Economic Development Government Equity grant to Dayton Progress, West Carrolton, OH, a manufacturer of stamping-die components, punches, die retainers and custom tooling. The grant, worth $54,250, will support the firm’s construction of a new 3600-sq.-ft. storage building.
Yarde Metals Opens Livonia Facility
A 14,400-sq.-ft. facility is the new home of Yarde Met- als in Livonia, MI, a metals service center headquartered in Southington, CT. Yarde, which now numbers 17 U.S. branch locations, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Reliance Steel & Aluminum Co.

Synergy Amongst Engineered-Fastener Manufacturers
PSM International, New- berry, SC, a manufacturer of specially engineered fasten- ers including brass inserts for injection-molded plastics as well as self-clinching and riveting fasteners, has acquired UK-based BAS Com- ponents. BAS, with a U.S. technical center in Youngstown, OH, manufac- tures proprietary Flangeform fasteners as well as weld nuts and other cold-formed components, and automatic feeding systems for integra- tion into press lines and robotic cells. PSM will relo- cate its North America Tech- nical Center to Youngstown.

Serapid Group, Sterling Heights, MI, appointed Bon- nie Taube marketing manag- er for North America and Europe. The firm manufac- tures lifts and push-pull apparatus used in quick-die- change systems. The company also hired three new employ- ees to support its engineer- ing and manufacturing efforts. Devin Badaczewski joins the company as a designer in the engineering department; Emanuel Chirila joins the company as project engineer; and Anthony Lelej has been hired as a builder in the firm’s manufacturing department.
James A. Erhardt has been named president of Rifast Systems LLC, Lincoln- wood, IL. The firm manufac- tures fastening systems and peripherals, including in-die and stand-alone equipment.
Beckwood Press Co., St. Louis, MO, promoted Josh Schroeder from manufactur- ing manager to operations manager. He’ll run day-to-day operations of the firm’s engi- neering and manufacturing departments.
Bunting Magnetics Co., Newton, KS, added Simon Ayling as production manag- er and Steve Lacy as techni- cal sales executive for its European manufacturing and sales operation based in Berkhamsted, England. The operation has begun to man- ufacture equipment for the firm’s magnetic separation product line.
