Laser Cutting System with Advanced Automation
Since 1967, Spacesonic Precision Sheet Metal (San Carlos, CA) has been at the forefront of fabricating technology. At Spacesonic, they know a lot about lasers. In fact, the first of four laser cutting systems has been on their shop floor since 1989. However, they hadn’t made a new laser machine purchase in over 10 years. According to Ignacio Palomarez, CEO “Until we saw Amada’s F, we didn’t see a big enough gap between the newest machine technology and what we already had on our floor.”
The LC3015F􏰀-NT features a 3-Axis linear motor drive system which enables exceptionally high precision and unmatched speed. The F􏰀 also features no-lens- change technology which allows for a full range of thick to thin material to be processed without the need for an operator to change cutting lenses. To take full advantage of the speed and versatility of the F􏰀, Spacesonic also purchased the ASF3015 tower automation system. This space-saving system stores pallets of raw material and automatically loads and offloads sheets so that the F􏰀 can operate without manual setup or intervention – after the lights are turned out the F1 continues to produce parts!
