B&A Co., Milford, CT, has been granted AS9100B + ISO 9001:2008 certifica- tions. The firm supplies pre- cision machined parts of aluminum, stainless steel and titanium alloys to the aerospace industry.
Direct Metals Co. earned ISO 9001: 2008 registration for its headquarters facility in Kennesaw, GA, and for its sister location in Park City, IL. The registration covers the company’s warehousing, sales, fabrication and distri- bution services. Direct Met- als supplies perforated metal, bar grating, expand- ed metal, safety grating and other products in stainless and carbon steel, aluminum alloys, galvanized steel and fiberglass.

operations in Danboro, PA, and Kunshan, China, have received Aerospace Stan- dard AS9100 approval, join- ing the firm’s other opera- tions in Corona, CA (3V Fastners Co.) and Leland, NC (QRP, Inc.). AS9100 builds on ISO 9000, adding specific requirements for the aerospace industry to further ensure safety, relia- bility and quality of aero- space products. The scope of the company’s certifica- tion covers design and man- ufacture of self-clinching fasteners, threaded inserts and other fasteners.

Trumpf Inc., Farmington, CT, announced several person- nel changes within its laser division. The firm promoted David Havrilla, based in Ply- mouth, MI, to manager of
products and applications. Havrilla replaced Juergen Stollhof, who relocated to the Farmington headquarters facility to become program manager of a new sales ini- tiative focused on the pho- tovoltaic, semiconductor and medical industries, and will work with newly named product manager Paul Gra- ham. Other changes: Chris Pilcher was named regional sales manager for Trumpf Canada; Michael Nuessler became sales engineer for laser products, based in Queretaro, Mexico; and Bill Weston was named south- west regional sales manager. The company also appointed two new product managers for its Laser Technology Center in Plymouth, MI: Tracey Ryba is product manager—lasers, and Frank Geyer is product manager—laser systems. Both will report to David Havrilla, manager of prod- ucts and applications for Trumpf’s laser division.
Ogihara America Corp., Howell, MI, a Thai Summit Group company, named Chumpol Rangson president. Rangson previously served as director of overseas operations for Thai Summit Autoparts Industry. Ogihara provides metal stamping and assembly services and tool and die design, build and refurbishment.
ABB, Auburn Hills, MI, appointed Michael Mahfet vice president and general manager of its robotics busi- ness in North America. ABB Robotics supplies industrial robots and related software and peripheral equipment, as well as modular manufactur- ing cells, for welding, handling, assembly, machine tending and other applications.
