Oscillating Shear Die
Coe Press Equipment, Sterling Heights, MI, has delivered a high-speed oscillating shear die to MISA Metal Blanking, Birm- ingham, AL, a steel-service center that provides Class A blanks to the automotive industry. The unit stamps trapezoidal and parallel-shaped blanks in the firm’s existing blanking press, and features wedge-type blade-gap adjustment. Worthington Steel Acquires Gibraltar Assets

Worthington Industries, Columbus, OH, acquired the steel-pro- cessing assets of Gibraltar Industries in Cleveland, OH. The acqui- sition provides Worthington the ability to roll wider and lighter- gauge materials along with performing oscillate slitting. Included in the transaction are the equipment and inventory of the Gibral- tar facility in Buffalo, NY, and a warehouse in Detroit, MI. Ramos-Arizpe Coil-Processing Plant Expanding
Acero Prime, a joint venture between Feralloy Corp., U.S. Steel and Mitsui USA, plans to expand its facility in Ramos Arizpe, Mexico. By November 2010, the facility will feature a new 55,000-sq.-ft. addition and a new multi-blanking line to service customers in the appliance and automotive industries. The new line will handle coils to 72 in. wide and weighing as much as 30 metric tons.
Acero Prime operates three plants in Mexico to provide value- added processing to hot rolled, hot rolled and pickled, cold rolled and coated sheet coils.
