Stamper/Die Builder Adds 6-kW Laser-Cutting Machine
Rockford Toolcraft Inc., Rockford, IL, a tool and die builder and heavy-metal stamper, has acquired an Amada LC-F1NT laser-cut- ting machine. The flying- optics-style machine is equipped with a 6-kW laser to handle heavy-gauge fabri- cation and position the company to take on relative- ly shorter runs.

Portland Welcomes
New Steel-Service Center Macsteel Service Centers
USA, Newport Beach, CA, has opened a 100,000-sq.- ft. service center in Port- land, OR, to serve the Pacif- ic Northwest region including Oregon, Washing- ton and Idaho. The service center will process and stock carbon, stainless and aluminum flat-rolled prod- uct and wide-flange beams. Plans call for the product line to include channels, angles, tubes and plates.
The service center offers inhouse saw cutting and cambering with an Amada HK1000 structural bandsaw with capacity to cut 40-in. beams, and a cambering machine that will camber 30-in.-wide beams.

Stamper Earns SHARP Status from OSHA
HK Metalcraft Manufac- turing Corp., Lodi, NJ, has been accepted as a partici- pant in OSHA’s Safety & Health Achievement Recog- nition Program (SHARP), for the term September 18, 2008, to September 18, 2009. HK Metalcraft worked with the New Jersey onsite consultation program to meet the requirements of the SHARP program, and in doing so it is removed from the programmed inspection schedule until September 18. HK Metalcraft manufac- tures precision metal stampings, spring washers, formed products and related assemblies.

to Supply Structural Titanium Components for Boeing Dreamliner
RTI International Metals, Inc., Pittsburgh, PA, a man- ufacturer and distributor of titanium-alloy products, extruded shapes, formed parts and engineered sys- tems, has contracted with Roll Forming Corp. (RFC), Shelbyville, KY, to supply laser-beam welding, forming and inspection of RTI’s structural titanium compo- nents destined for the Boe- ing 787 Dreamliner.
