Paperless Parts and ECI Software Solutions Extend Strategic Partnership
Paperless Parts, a provider of estimating and quoting software for job shops and con- tract manufacturers, has announced the extension of its strategic partnership with ECI Software Solutions, a provider of cloud-based business-management solutions, and a new integration between ECI’s JobBoss2 manufacturing-specific ERP platform and the Paperless Parts quoting platform.
“Working with ECI Software Solutions on the original JobBoss integration has been a game changer for manufacturers,” says Paperless Parts’ co-founder and CEO Jason Ray. “Our new integration with JobBoss2 takes it a step further, giving back one of the most valuable assets to job shops—time. This opens the opportunity to invest in critical activi- ties that otherwise can get overlooked, such as training junior estimators, recruiting or planning the next phase of a shop’s growth strategy.”
The integration between ECI’s business management solutions including both Job- Boss and JobBoss2, and Paperless Parts’ quoting platform, helps customers to stream- line operations, reduce manual data entry in multiple systems and turn around accurate quotes quickly and efficiently.

Penn United Unveils Renovated Facility and New Electroplating Line
Penn United Technologies, Inc. wel-
comed dignitaries, customers and others,
including MetalForming magazine, to its
National Manufacturing Day event on Fri-
day, October 7, that featured a grand
opening ceremony and open recruiting
event for the company’s Advanced Materi-
als Processing Facility in Sarver, PA. The
50,000-sq.-ft. facility houses a new Tech-
nic electroplating line. The line continues
evolution of the company’s core competen-
cy, as in 1982 Penn United, based on needs of several of its customers and partners, installed its first electroplating lines.
The new line, as explained at the ribbon cutting by Bill Jones, Penn United president and CEO, enables the company to expand elec- troplating capacity by 20 percent for inhouse-stamped metal connectors and terminals.
“In the last few years,” says Jones, “we have experienced unprecedented demand driven by exponential growth in our connected world, and the need for stamped and plated electrical contacts and terminals. As a result, we have outgrown our current facility.”
The facility will include advanced electroplating and processing lines, testing and quality-control labs, waste-water-treatment equip- ment, and upgraded environmental controls, as well as a modernized environment for associates. Installation of these capabilities will continue through 2023.
