  Servo Silent Blanking Motion Profile
Aida-America Booth B6007
Aida-America will partner with A-G Tool & Die, Dallas Industries, Pax Products, Inc. and Tower Metalworking Fluids to demonstrate a 200-ton straightside servo press, as part of a full progressive-die production line stamping parts. This two-point, direct-drive straightside servo press, model DSF-N2, combines the rigidity of a unitized frame with the flexibility of freely programmable servo motion. Step-by-step, easily programmable slide motion profiles via an intuitive HMI allow quick modifications to optimize productivity and improve part quality.
A second press on display, a DSF-C1-1500A, 150-ton, direct-drive gap-frame servo, will blank parts with Aida’s optimized servo silent blanking stroke motion profile, which can only be achieved on a servo press. The A-Series single point, direct-drive gap-frame press showcases the firm’s exclusive Allen-Bradley control, featuring an ergonomically designed 12-in. swing-arm mounted color touchscreen HMI with optical run buttons to provide the highest level of safety while helping to reduce operator fatigue. www.aida-global.com
  Three Presses, a Feed System
and a Spring Machine
Amada Press System America Booth B5909
Amada Press System America Inc. will display two direct-drive servo presses, models SDE8018i3 and SDE1522i3; one crank-motion press, TP-60FX; an automated feed system, Orii LCC06HR3; and the MEC spring machine, model SH-8A. The North American debut of the SDE8018i3 features its new i3 control system, enabling high-accuracy forming with improved productivity, and allowing direct connection to an automatic feed system for control of the press and the feeder with one operator interface. The SDE8018i3 demonstration will showcase the ability to reduce noise on the production floor via special slide-motion programming. And, the firm will partner with Universal Robotics to demonstrate automated press loading and unloading using a Yaskawa cobot.
Also being debuted: remote service via augmented reality (AR) technology. Guests will be able to try on the AR equipment and will be guided remotely in real-life situations on how to operate the TP-60FX press and address errors and other issues. www.amadapresssystem.com
Linear Servo Press
Beckwood Corp. Booth B5507
Beckwood will unveil its new Linear Servo Press (LSP) at FABTECH, promising a high degree of forming flexibility at pro- duction-level speeds without the use of hydraulic or mechanical flywheel systems. By reducing the number of moving com- ponents required to generate force, users will experience a simplified design that allows for easy setup and troubleshooting, and no maintenance for millions of cycles.
The patent-pending LSP machines
run entirely on electricity and combine
the flexibility of hydraulic presses with the performance of servomechanical presses. Since linear servo presses achieve full tonnage throughout the stroke, BDC is eliminated. This means there is no tonnage loss above BDC, and press tonnage can be appropriately sized, resulting in upfront cost savings.
The model LSP-250-3660 on display will feature 250 tons of force rated anywhere in the stroke via an all-electric actuation system with two linear servo actuators, a 36 by 60-in. forming area and production-level speeds. The technology requires no crankshaft, counterbalance, flywheel, centralized lubrication or hydraulic power unit. www.beckwoodpress.com
