American Iron and Steel Institute Announces New VP
of Auto Program
The American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), Southfield, MI, has named Christopher Kristock vice president of its automotive pro- gram, succeeding John Catterall. Catterall, who is retiring, has led the AISI automotive program since 2020, and previously led the AISI Auto/Steel Partnership.
Kristock will lead AISI’s Automotive Appli- cations Council, a group of AISI-member steel producers focused on automotive innovation, education and technology-transfer activities. He has worked as a scientist, manufacturing engineer and quality-assurance leader, and since 2014 has held several positions at an automotive metal processor including vice president of quality and technology. Previous- ly, Kristock served as vice president of quality and product development at Severstal North America and was co-chairman of its interna- tional global technology system.

Methods Machine Tools to Add
New Texas Production and Distribution Site
Methods Machine Tools, Sudbury, MA, a supplier of CNC machine tools and automation equipment, has announced plans to open a state-of-the-art production and distribution center in Fort Worth, TX, in February 2023. The new 285,000-sq.-ft. facility will serve as a flagship production, engineering and logistics hub; will host innovation programs conducted by Methods’ engineering, applications and automa- tion experts; and feature dedicated training areas and a showcase technical center.
Methods first expanded into Texas in late 2021 upon completing its acquisition of Houston- and Dallas-based Koch Machine Tool.
Tenere Opens New Sheet Metal Fabrication Plant in Nuevo León, Mexico
Tenere has coronated a new state-of- the-art sheet metal fabrication facility in Nuevo León. The 180,000-sq.-ft. plant nearly doubles the company’s production space in Mexico. In addition, it plans to add another 75,000 sq. ft. to the building
by the end of 2022. The new space features state-of-the-art sheet metal fabrication equipment, robotics and automation, painting, mechanical assembly, integration and testing capabilities.
