HVAC Sheetmetal Fabricator Adds 4-kW Laser-Cutting Machine

M&M Manufacturing Co. has installed a Mazak Hypergear 2D FMS laser-cutting system at its Precision Products Division in Fort Worth, TX. The machine, from Mazak Optonics Corp., Elgin, IL, features a 4-kW laser to cut mild steel to 1 in. thick, as well as a material-storage tower for holding and retrieving as many as 10 different sheet specifications.
A pneumatic load system positions each sheet on the cutting table—with material loaded in the tower, the setup can run untended for complete shifts or over the weekend.
