This 150-ton horizontal minting press achieves output rates to 850 coins/min.
Germany’s largest minting enterprise—The State Mints of Baden-Württemberg—recently replaced its 25-year-old presses with four new systems from the Schuler Group. Three go to the Stuttgart location, another one to Karlsruhe.

The machines will produce circulating money from 1 and 2-cent pieces to 2-euro coins. The 150-ton MRH horizontal coin minting presses used in Stuttgart each can achieve output rates to 850 coins/min.

In addition, Schuler will modernize a MRV 150 Ringmaster press. The machine, which also runs in Stuttgart, can be used for minting, joining of bi-metal coins or punching blanks. In addition, the press can separate rings and cores from used bimetal coins.

With their 80 employees, the State Mints of Baden-Württemberg produce around 40 percent of German euro coins.
