Lordstown Motors Acquires GM Manufacturing Complex

Thursday, November 14, 2019

Lordstown Motors Corp. (LMC), the electric-truck startup, has acquired General Motors' manufacturing complex in Lordstown, OH, which closed in March after manufacturing 16 million vehicles. LMC notes that the acquisition paves the way for the company to begin production of Endurance electric pickup trucks by the end of 2020.

LMC says its electric-drive technology will include licensing components by Workhorse Group, Loveland, OH. The agreement with Workhorse also provides the opportunity to transfer 6000 existing pre-orders received by Workhorse for its W-15 electric pickup truck prototype to LMC.
