Prima Power, Arlington Heights, IL, introduces the Platino fiber-laser cutting machine, available for sheet sizes as large as 1500 by 3000 mm and with laser power ranging from 2000 to 3000 W. The unique architecture of the Platino fiber allows full accessibility to the working area from three sides. This open structure, say company officials, makes it easy to integrate the system with a wide range of modular automation solutions, including simple pallet changers to a complete automated material-handling and storage system.

Key features of the machine include:

• Linear axes combined speed of 140 m/min.;

• Acceleration of 1.2 g for single axis;

• Automatic nozzle centering; and

• Optional rotary axis for cutting tube or pipe.
