New Aluminum-Fabricating Plant to Build Wind-Tower Equipment

Zarges Aluminum Systems GmbH will begin construction of a manufacturing facility in Amarillo, TX, later this year. The 80,000-sq-.ft. plant, to be completed by the end of the year, will manufacture aluminum internal equipment for wind towers—ladders, work platforms, scaffolding and the like. The plant will be located on more than 8.5 acres in the Amarillo Economic Development Corp.’s CenterPort Business Park.

Zarges is working with Amarillo College to develop welding, technical training and robotics and automation programs to help train its future workforce.
