Optical-Displacement Sensors for QC applications

Sick Inc., Minneapolis, MN, has introduced the OD (optical displacement) Value family of sensors to its existing line of high-accuracy measurement solutions. OD Value sensors offer a variety of interface capabilities for accurate quality-control applications in the automotive, robotics and electronics/ semiconductor markets.

The new sensors use CMOS—a technology that allows measurement of targets regardless of color or reflectivity, from bright shiny objects to dark remission objects, all with high accuracy in a stand-alone sensor. The OD Value also has an easy-to-read bar-graph display for quick installation and simplified maintenance. Users can select from four different output styles.
