Auto-Parts Makers Expected to Post
Positive 2nd-Quarter Earnings Reports

Wednesday, July 18, 2007

Quarterly results from U.S.-based auto suppliers are due to be reported starting this week and through the end of the month, and overall expectations are high, according to analysts. Most suppliers are expected to meet or beat Wall Street predictions. “Suppliers with exposure to GM saw benefits from the launch of T-900 pickups and what we suspect has been some inventory build into this summer’s contract talks,” said Robert Barry of Goldman Sachs, according to an Associated Press report. Johnson Controls hit a 52-week high earlier this week (Monday), and BorgWarner and Magna International are expected to post positive second-quarter numbers later this week, according to a representative from Wachovia. Also due to report earnings later this week or next week: American Axle & Manufacturing, Lear Corp., Tenneco, ArvinMeritor, TRW Automotive Holdings and Visteon Corp.
