GM Downsizing Could Benefit

At least that’s how some at the Canadian Automotive Parts Manufacturers Association (APMA) see things. “GM getting out of the parts business could be an opportunity for us,” says Gerry Fedchun, APMA president, who expects that outsourcing more of the parts GM needs would mean “big business” to APMA member companies. GM already purchases $16 billion worth of parts in Canada, according to a report from CanWest News Service posted on www.canada.com.
