Thursday, October 6, 2005

Workforce training is critical in Michigan, according to the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, which in 2003 formed a partnership with the Michigan Manufacturing Technology Center to help train tool-and-die-industry workers in new manufacturing methods. In 2005, the partnership will award more than $217,000 in training grants to 14 companies, including a $26,618 grant just issued to E&E Engineering, Inc., Warren, MI. Henry Ford Community College will assist in administering the grants and facilitate all training sessions for E&E’s 57 employees. E&E manufactures tooling components, material-handling products and ergonomic products. It’s online at www.eeeng.com.
