The June 1 Business Conditions Report from the Precision Metalforming Association indicates that metalforming-company executives foresee a modest decline in average daily shipping levels and take a cautious view of the outlook for overall economic activity over the summer months. While in May, 66 percent projected an increase in shipments, now only 53 percent project such an increase in June. Another 30 percent expect no change in shipments in June, and 17 percent project that June shipments will slide, up from 8 percent who expected declines in the May report.
