Machine-Tool Consumption at 4-Year High

The third quarter of 2004 ended on a high note for U.S. machine-tool consumption, according to AMTDA—the American Machine Tool Distributors’ Association—and AMT—The Association For Manufacturing Technology. Through September, domestic machine-tool sales totaled $2,146.95 million, up 42.2 percent over the first three quarters of 2003. Sales for the month of September totaled $389.2 million, up 74.6 percent over September 2003 sales, and the highest level in four years. Learn more at www.amtda.org.
