Stamco, New Bremen, OH, has installed a new slitting and inspection line at the 300,000-sq.-ft. Perrysburg, OH, facility of Flat Rock Metal Processing. The line is designed to process a diverse product mix, focusing on cold-rolled, galvanized and prepainted sheet in widths to 80 in. and thicknesses to 0.156 in. The line can handle coils weighing to 100,000 lb. and runs at speeds to 1200 ft./min. Featured are rotary storage trays for the slitters and coil winds, a powered strip threader with loop doubler and a cassette-type corrective leveler. The line performs top and bottom inspection along with defect mapping. Stamco has installed similar lines at Flat Rock’s Portage, IN, and Eldridge, IA, facilities.
