Free Machine-Guarding Evaluation

Free Machine-Guarding Evaluation

Friday, October 17, 2003

The Park Nicollet Institute, funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, is looking for small- to medium-sized metalforming and fabricating companies to take part in its free, nonregulatory machine-guarding program. Participants will receive a confidential shop evaluation with workers completing a brief questionnaire. In addition, some shops will receive free safety training. According to institute officials, participation will help shops in identifying s to control machine hazards, solving various guarding problems and developing better working relationships concerning shop safety. Participants also will receive a certificate from the Minneapolis Community and Technical College. Again, the institute maintains that all information will be kept confidential. For more information, contact Dr. David L. Parker at tel. 952/993-8753, e-mail parked@parknicollet.com.
