IKS Installs Slitter Setup Software
for Canadian Processor

Thursday, August 8, 2002

International Knife & Saw, Inc. (IKS), Cincinnati, OH, has installed its SAVE2001 precision tooling setup software at the Samuel Flat Rolled Processing Group, a division of Samuel, Son & Co., in Hamilton and Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. The upgrade replaces tooling setup programs used on six coil-processing lines at the two Samuel locations with one common program. Now, standardized setup printouts ensure familiarity by all personnel and keep production quality consistent from line to line and plant to plant, according to IKS officials. Windows-based SAVE2001 reportedly offers slitter/arbor tooling setups in seconds and generates easy-to-read setup printouts. A user help screen assists operators should the need arise. It also offers many user-configurable options, allowing software customization. For more on SAVE2001, visit IKS at www.iksinc.com.
