Laser Job Shop Adds
Weld Radiography to its Resume

Wednesday, May 1, 2002

With its newly purchased 150-sq.-ft. vault for x-ray inspection of large weldments, laser job shop Laser Machining, Inc., Somerset, WI, has enhanced its nondestructive-testing capabilities. The firm uses x-ray inspection to characterize weld penetration, joint alignment and defect detection in laser-welded parts, including components for trucks, drive trains and gas turbines. The added x-ray inspection capabilities complements LMI’s existing ability to perform ultrasonic, magnetic-particle and liquid-penetrant testing. LMI operates high-power 6- and 12-kW CO2 lasers and a 3-kW YAG laser. Learn more about LMI's capabilities at www.lasermachining.com.
