Chelar Tool & Die Adds 630-Ton Aida Press
December 5, 2025Comments
Aida-America has supplied Chelar Tool & Die, Inc.,
Belleville, IL, with a new 630-metric-ton straightside mechanical press, installed
in a 15,000-sq.-ft. addition to its facility. Chelar primarily uses the new
press for die development and tryout, in addition to stamping parts.
Its new model MCX-6300(2) progressive-die press features a 4250 by 1500-mm bed and an 850-mm die height. Chelar president Jared Katt and vice president Jim Rood credit the press with allowing the firm to add work it could not have performed on its existing presses. In addition, Chelar now can stamp a wide variety of parts on a single die that previously required five or six dies, greatly improving efficiency.
