Laystrom Manufacturing Co., a 50-year-old family-owned metal stamper and fabricator headquartered in Chicago, IL, announced that its facility in Elk Grove Village, IL, was audited and found to be in compliance with ISO 9001:2000 requirements. Laystrom took over the facility from Nitram Metal Fabricators in June 2006, and since then has worked to integrate the plant into its quality management system.
DaveCo Industries, Garland, TX, has achieved AS 9100 certification, the quality standard adopted by the aerospace industry. The firm, previously registered to ISO 9001:2000, expects the AS 9100 certification to benefit its defense and non-defense customers, since the standard focuses on critical areas important to all industries, such as supply-chain management and process control.
DaveCo offers machining, assembly, finishing and sheetmetal-fabrication services—its shop houses state-of-the-art press brakes with programmable backgauges, punch presses, laser-cutting machines and welding equipment.
