Measurement System Combines Optical, Probe, Laser and Rotational Functions

Keyence has launched the IM-X1000 Series, its latest generation of the Instant Measurement System lineup, as a modular system designed to meet a breadth of inspection needs. Measure up to 5000 dimensions in as little as 1 sec. with the push of a button.

The IM-X allows up to 20 different stage and camera combinations to build the measurement system that’s right for the application. From general-purpose optical-comparator applications to multi-sensor measurement, the unit enables shops to use optical, probe, laser and rotational measurement to deliver comprehensive inspections. Measurement range:16 by 20 in.

Programming also has been enhanced, with the ability to import drawings to automatically create programs. By importing CAD, PDF, JPEG and even paper drawings, users can select critical dimensions, design values and tolerances to create inspection programs. And the system includes an artificial-intelligence-driven Smart Assist feature that auto-adjusts focus, light and edge-extraction settings to eliminate guesswork.
